Longwood Gardens Named World's Most Beautiful Garden

KENNETT SQUARE, PA — Titan Travel's recent study has crowned Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania as the most beautiful garden globally, with a score of 6.86. This ranking was determined through an analysis of social media activity, review site ratings, and Google search data. Longwood Gardens spans over 1,000 acres and features more than 10,000 species and varieties of plants. Its lush landscapes, formal gardens, and scenic paths make it a favorite among visitors, reflected in its five-star rating on Tripadvisor and significant presence on Instagram and TikTok.

The study also recognized other exceptional gardens worldwide. Shinjuku Gyo-en in Tokyo, with its seasonal cherry blossoms, ranked second, while New Zealand's Pukekura Park secured the third spot. Additional notable gardens included in the top ten are Kenroku-en in Kanazawa, Volksgarten in Vienna, Dubai Miracle Garden, Singapore Botanic Gardens, Mirabell Palace in Salzburg, Gardens by the Bay in Singapore, and Brooklyn Botanic Garden in New York City. These gardens highlight the global appreciation for diverse and beautiful horticultural spaces.

New Music Festival Debuts in Kennett Square: Roots & Blues Fest

KENNETT SQUARE, PA — On July 27th, Kennett Square, PA, will welcome music enthusiasts to the first Roots & Blues Fest at Anson B. Nixon Park. The festival will begin with a lively New Orleans-style parade by the Wild Bohemians, setting the tone for a day filled with performances from renowned artists including Jeffery Broussard & the Creole Cowboys, Deb Callahan, and Slim & the Perkolators. Music will be featured on both the main stage and a concert pavilion, ensuring continuous entertainment.

Chester County Police to Target Aggressive Drivers in Statewide Initiative

CHESTER COUNTY — Police departments across Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties are joining forces with the Pennsylvania State Police in a statewide initiative to combat aggressive driving. Running through August 18, this effort aims to reduce road crashes and fatalities. The enforcement will focus on violations like heavy truck infractions, red light running, and tailgating. Funded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the initiative is part of Pennsylvania’s Highway Safety Program.

Caln Township Offers Free Tickets for Fighting Phils’ Downingtown Day

CALN TWP — Caln Township is offering free tickets to the Reading Fightin Phils game on August 1st as part of Downingtown Day celebrations. Residents can collect their tickets from the Township building during regular business hours. This initiative is designed to bring the community together for a fun and memorable event. Clover Mill Road to Close for Emergency Tree Work in East Caln


EAST CALN TWP — Clover Mill Road in East Caln Township will be closed from 8 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, for emergency tree work. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes during the closure.
