Chester County Man Faces Murder Charges in Toddler’s Death
WEST GROVE, PA — In Chester County, Enrique Lopez-Gomez has been charged with third-degree murder and other offenses following the death of his 21-month-old stepson. Authorities allege that Lopez-Gomez struck the child in the abdomen after a fall, leading to fatal injuries. Despite the child's worsening condition throughout the day, medical assistance was not sought until late Monday night. Upon arrival at a relative's home in Kennett, the child was unresponsive and later pronounced dead. Lopez-Gomez, who initially blamed supernatural causes, is held on $10 million bail, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for July 12. This incident is the second child fatality in the county in recent months.
