Bam Margera Pleads Guilty to Lesser Charges, Marking a Turn in Recovery

WEST CHESTER, PA — Brandon "Bam" Margera, the reality TV star and skateboarder, pleaded guilty to two counts of disorderly conduct on Wednesday, concluding his criminal case with a plea deal. The charges stem from a 2023 incident involving threatening behavior towards his older brother at their family home. As part of the agreement, Margera will serve six months of court-supervised probation, continue his mental health treatment, and undergo random drug screenings.

This plea marks a significant step in Margera's recovery journey, following his dismissal from the production of "Jackass Forever" in 2021 due to substance abuse issues. His family, including his parents and wife, were present in court, showing their support. Judge Patrick Carmody highlighted the positive resolution for Margera and his family, stressing the importance of their support in his recovery.

The District Attorney's office, after consulting with the victims, agreed that the plea would provide Margera with additional accountability. The resolution was welcomed by Margera's legal team, who compared the charges to minor infractions, reflecting Margera's progress in addressing his issues. The incident involved aggressive behavior towards his brother and other family members, but the plea deal indicates a step forward in Margera's efforts to turn his life around.

Chester County Sheriff’s Office Strengthens Team with Five New Deputies

WEST CHESTER, PA — In an effort to address ongoing staffing shortages, the Chester County Sheriff’s Office has recently inducted five new deputy sheriffs. The new recruits, who have completed their training, include graduates from the Delaware County Community College’s Police Academy and a seasoned officer from the Telford Borough Police Department. Additionally, a current staff member has been promoted to corporal. Despite these new additions, the office still faces significant staffing challenges, with 22 vacancies remaining. Sheriff Kevin Dykes, who took office in January, has implemented an aggressive recruitment and retention plan, including enhanced digital outreach to attract a diverse pool of candidates. The office's staffing issues date back to the COVID-19 pandemic and low morale during former Sheriff Fredda Maddox’s term, leading to the use of private security guards and increased pay to attract new deputies.

Caln Township Honors Local Leaders with First Honorary Street Signs

CALN TWP — In a recent ceremony, Caln Township introduced its first two honorary street signs, honoring Thelma B. Vaughn and Bishop George L. Eggleston. These signs, located in the Carver Court neighborhood, recognize the significant contributions of these community leaders. Family members joined township staff and Commissioners to unveil the new signs, celebrating the legacies of Vaughn and Eggleston.

The initiative is part of a policy approved by the Township Board of Commissioners in late 2023, which allows for the designation of honorary street names to individuals and organizations that have made substantial contributions to the community. This policy ensures that these tributes do not impose changes on the official street map or require residents to re-address their properties. Instead, the honorary street names serve as a symbolic recognition of the honorees' impact on the community.
