Chester County Parks Now Home to Over 240 Bird Species

COATESVILLE, PA — Chester County has become a prime destination for bird enthusiasts, with its parks and trails now home to more than 240 bird species, as reported by Cornell University's eBird online database. This diverse bird population reflects the area's successful conservation efforts and offers a rich experience for nature lovers.

To support this interest, Hibernia Park has introduced a binocular borrowing system, allowing residents and visitors to engage in bird-watching more easily. The system is designed to encourage participation by making essential equipment readily available. Those wishing to borrow binoculars should contact the Parks Main Office at 610-344-6415 to arrange a reservation, providing a driver’s license for verification. It is recommended to give advanced notice, and borrowed binoculars must be returned by 4 PM on the same day.
