Paoli Bids Farewell to beloved hardware store, a Community Staple Since 1951

PAOLI β€” The Hardware Center in Paoli, Pennsylvania, a beloved local business, will be closing its doors permanently in June after 72 years. Founded by Cordine Scartozzi in 1951 and later moved to its current location in the 1950s, the store has been run by his sons, Steve and Greg Scartozzi. Over the decades, the store has grown into a community pillar, known for its exceptional personal service and quality products. Steve Scartozzi, now 72, shared that the decision to close was bittersweet, as the store allowed him to build lifelong relationships within the community. As the store closes, several employees will retire, while others seek new opportunities, marking the end of an era for the Paoli community.

Record $80K Raised by Valley Forge Rev Run for National Historical Park

KING OF PRUSSIA β€” The Valley Forge Tourism and Convention Board raised a record $80,000 from the 18th annual Valley Forge Revolutionary 5-Mile Run and accompanying 2-mile walk. The event attracted over 1,200 participants from across the U.S. and the funds will go towards improving the Valley Forge National Historical Park. The proceeds will specifically enhance signage and park furnishings in anticipation of the 250th anniversary of America's founding.

Toll Brothers to Build 89 New Townhouses in Downingtown

DOWNINGTOWN β€” Toll Brothers has purchased a 22-acre site in Downingtown for $6.23 million to develop 89 townhouses. The new development, named Stonemill Village, is close to Route 30 and Downingtown Middle School. Construction site improvements are set to begin soon, with home sales anticipated by next spring.

Mobile Mammography Screenings to Be Held at Downingtown Library

DOWNINGTOWN β€” In a collaborative effort to enhance public health in Downingtown, State Senator Carolyn Comitta and State Representative Danielle Friel Otten are partnering with Fox Chase Cancer Center to provide mobile mammography screenings. WEST CHESTER β€” The Budweiser Clydesdales are returning to West Chester on May 23 (5pm) after three years. These renowned horses will parade through the borough, starting at the Borough Hall and making stops along Gay Street, New Street, and Market Street to deliver beer. Their last visit brought approximately 30,000 visitors to downtown.
