Chester County's E3 Program Celebrates Graduates, Paving Path to Manufacturing Careers

The Chester County Exit, Enter, Employ (E3) program marked another milestone with the graduation of five individuals, highlighting the ongoing success of the initiative in preparing individuals with prior involvement in the justice system for careers in manufacturing.

Administered by the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU), E3 offers a comprehensive approach, providing pre-release classes for individuals at Chester County Prison and post-release support for those reintegrating into society. With funding from the Chester County Government, the program focuses on equipping participants with essential job skills and certifications, facilitating their transition into the manufacturing workforce.

Chester County Commissioners Josh Maxwell, Marian Moskowitz, and Eric Roe commended the program's holistic approach, emphasizing the importance of job readiness training and personal development in empowering participants to secure meaningful employment opportunities. They praised the collaborative efforts of the CCIU, Chester County Prison, and partnering organizations in supporting program participants and facilitating connections with potential employers.

Jill Stoltzfus, Career Readiness Coordinator and E3 Re-Entry Coordinator at CCIU, underscored the program's impact on participants' lives, highlighting the acquisition of manufacturing skills, occupational certifications, and financial literacy knowledge. Stoltzfus emphasized the role of E3 in instilling confidence and fostering workforce readiness among participants, thereby contributing to both individual success and the workforce needs of manufacturing employers.

However, progress persists on the culvert project, with recent endeavors concentrated on foundational work for the new culvert system. Significant milestones, including the installation of a new manhole and pipeline, have been achieved, facilitated by innovative techniques such as bypass pumps and dewatering efforts to prepare the area and secure the infrastructure in place.
