Kennett School District Mourns Sudden Passing of Veteran Teacher

Kathleen Arvanites

The Kennett Consolidated School District is in mourning following the sudden death of Kathleen Arvanites, a revered Spanish teacher with more than 15 years of dedicated service. Having taught initially at Kennett High School and later at Kennett Middle School, Mrs. Arvanites' unexpected passing from a sudden illness has cast a somber atmosphere over the educational community.

In an official statement, the school district expressed deep sympathies to Mrs. Arvanites' family and all members of the school staff and student body who had the privilege of working alongside her during her 16-year tenure. The district, aware of the shock this news brings, requested patience and understanding as they navigate this challenging period together.

While the likely cause of Mrs. Arvanites' passing is cited as a bacterial infection, the district remains vigilant in prioritizing the safety of students and staff. The KCSD administrative team has been in contact with both the family and the Chester County Health Department. The district assures parents and guardians that, as of now, the Health Department has indicated no immediate action is required.

A graduate of West Chester University, Kathleen Arvanites leaves behind her husband, Andrew, and daughter, Keeley. Her brothers, Jim and Mike, as well as in-laws Debra and Tom Arvanites and sister-in-law Lauren, mourn the loss of a beloved family member.
