Local Business Hit by Check Fraud: Arrest Warrants Issued for Former Employees

Kennett Square Police have issued arrest warrants for four former employees accused of a check fraud scheme that cost a local business $133,000. The suspects, Hilda Domingez-Bastida, Carla Renteria, Michael A. Vilchis-Nava, and Maria De La Luz Vilchis-Nava, allegedly wrote fraudulent checks between April or May 2021 and September 2022. Over 100 officers from 24 Chester County police departments, usually clean-shaven due to regulations, embraced facial hair for a good cause in the "Blue Beards for Charity" initiative. In a departure from their usual appearance, officers grew beards, raising $60,000 for local charities. The funds were distributed to Unite for Her, The Sambuco Children’s Education Fund, A Child’s Light, and Chester County Crime Victim’s Center, with each charity receiving $15,000.
