West Goshen Man Confesses to Defacing Campaign Signs in Response to Township โ€œBullyingโ€

Paul J. Linkmeyer has confessed to defacing campaign signs and expressed remorse for his actions. The signs, which were vandalized with the word "murderer" across the names of Democratic candidates, were targeted by Linkmeyer. This act followed the tragic suicide of a long-time township employee, John David Woodward, who was under suspension due to a township policy regarding compensatory work time.

In response to the incident, Linkmeyer cited his distress over Woodward's suicide: โ€œI understand that I did a stupid thing and I apologize for my misbehavior. It was because I was distraught about the Woodward suicide. He was a person I knew who was so severely bullied and mistreated by West Goshen township leadershipโ€ฆ We all have emotions, unfortunately, mine got the better of me and I did something I regret, Iโ€™m sorry.โ€

The fallout from Woodward's death led to a lawsuit filed by his wife against the township, with the Republican Committee blaming the township for his demise and calling for the resignation of the entire Democratic board of supervisors.
