West Chester's Chili Cook-off Returns with 50/50 Chili Pepper Drop for Charity
West Chester's 21st Annual Chili Cook-off is set to take place on October 8th, featuring over 50 chili teams vying for the title of "The Best Chili in Chester County." This year, the event includes a new addition, the 50/50 Chili Pepper Drop, where participants can purchase foam chili peppers for a chance to win half of the proceeds if their pepper hits the bullseye target during the event. The Cook-off offers a discount for early online wristband purchases, providing attendees with the opportunity to sample approximately 15 pounds of chili for a nominal entry fee. The Rotary Club of West Chester sponsors the event, and funds raised are donated to local non-profits assisting individuals and families in need throughout Chester County.
West Chester Christmas Parade Seeks Volunteers to Be Parade Marshals
The Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce is searching for around 100 volunteer parade marshals to help ensure the smooth and safe running of the 2023 West Chester Christmas Parade, set to take place on December 1. Parade marshals will enjoy front-row seats along the eight-block parade route and will receive instructions on their roles closer to the event. The parade, a cherished hometown Christmas tradition in Chester County, features more than 70 elements, including marching bands, cheer squads, dance teams, and festive floats. The parade will conclude with the highly anticipated arrival of Santa Claus, and this year's emcees include 6abc Meteorologist Adam Joseph and WMMR radio host Kathy Romano. The West Chester Christmas Parade is a part of Chester County Hospital Lights Up Holiday Weekends, which offers various holiday events from Thanksgiving weekend through New Year's weekend in West Chester.
