Local Military Veteran and Band Who Brings Music to Troops, Duos Song in West Chester
Jason Reed, a West Chester native and military veteran, leads the Chris Cornell tribute band "Superunknown." Playing hits from the bands Soundgarden, Audioslave, and Temple of the Dog as well as Cornell’s solo work- they tour internationally to entertain troops stationed overseas. Their upcoming extended tour aims to provide a taste of home to soldiers. Reed, who wrote "Letters Home" chronicling his and his son's military experiences, sees this as a perfect blend of his music passion and military background.
This past Friday Jason made an unexpected appearance when a Pearl Jam tribute band, The Ledbetters, played in West Chester and performed a duo alongside the lead singer for a rendition of the popular song “Hunger Strike”, which was originally recorded by the lead singers of Pearl Jam and Soundgarden under the band name “Temple of the Dog”
Jason credits a friend dragging him out to see Temple of the Dog on their reunion tour shortly before lead singer, Chris Cornell’s death in 2017 as a moment that inspired him to start covering Cornell’s music.
His band, Superunknown, is scheduled to play in West Chester in November - info can be found on their Facebook page here

The Philadelphia Eagles secured a Week 4 win with the help of punt returner Britain Covey, who made a crucial play late in the game. However, Covey has now entered the NFL's concussion protocol following the victory, which raises concerns about his availability for the next game against the Los Angeles Rams. This injury comes at an unfortunate time as the Eagles are already dealing with several injuries to key players. Covey has been a standout punt returner, accumulating impressive yards in his first three games this season.
