Shining a Purple Light on Domestic Violence Awareness Month in Chester County

Chester County, Pennsylvania, observes Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) each October to unite advocates in the fight against domestic violence. The Domestic Violence Center of Chester County (DVCCC) plays a crucial role in DVAM, with its "Light the Night for Hope & Healing" initiative. Purple lights are displayed countywide throughout the month, honoring victims and offering hope to survivors. DVCCC encourages community participation by lighting purple lights at homes and businesses. This collective effort reminds everyone that they are not alone in the fight against domestic violence, promoting awareness, support, and healing.

Downingtown Football Teams Go Undefeated

Congrats as both Downingtown High School Football teams won their respected matches last Friday. They even earned a shoutout from the D-town mayor (on his personal page) acknowledging their feat.

Eagles Close Win Despite Taunting Penalty on Game Superstar

Philadelphia Eagles receiver A.J. Brown had an impressive game, catching nine passes for 175 yards and two touchdowns. However, his celebration after the second touchdown drew criticism. Brown dropped the ball in the end zone, resulting in a 15-yard taunting penalty. This penalty had consequences as the Washington Commanders were able to tie the game with a late touchdown, forcing overtime. The Eagles ultimately won with a 54-yard field goal by Jake Elliott. Brown acknowledged his mistake and the importance of maintaining composure on the field. Despite some early-season struggles, Brown's recent performances have been notable, making him one of only five Eagles players since 1970 to achieve 130 or more receiving yards in consecutive games. The Eagles remain undefeated and face the Los Angeles Rams in their next game. Brown praised the team's ongoing effort to improve and learn from each game.
