Iron Hill Brewery Shutters All Locations, Files for Bankruptcy

WEST CHESTER, PA — Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant has suddenly and permanently closed all of its locations and filed for bankruptcy. The chain, founded in 1996 and operating in five states, blamed chronic financial strain and said disclosing those difficulties earlier would have blocked efforts to secure new funds. Staff were alerted via an internal email and will receive final pay and benefits information. The closure ends nearly three decades of operations and leaves its future uncertain.

Spring Hollow Road to Close Friday for Tree Removal

EAST PIKELAND TWP — Spring Hollow Road in East Pikeland Township will be temporarily closed to traffic on Friday, September 26, between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. The closure is necessary to allow crews to safely complete scheduled tree removal. Township officials are asking residents and motorists to plan ahead and use alternate routes during the affected hours. The work is expected to be completed within the day, with no additional closures anticipated.

Lionville Elementary Named 2025 Pennsylvania Blue Ribbon School

LIONVILLE, PA — Uwchlan Township is proud to announce that Lionville Elementary School has earned a place among Pennsylvania’s 2025 Blue Ribbon Schools, a designation conferred on just 13 schools across the state. This new recognition comes from the Pennsylvania Department of Education, which launched the state-level Blue Ribbon program after the federal program ended.

The award will be formally presented at a ceremony in Hershey this December. Lionville joins other honored schools that have demonstrated excellence either in overall academic performance or in closing performance gaps between student populations.

The recognition affirms the school’s philosophy of cultivating a safe, supportive environment where each student is encouraged to grow in curiosity, character and confidence.

Goodwill Keystone Previews New Downingtown Center Ahead of October Opening

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — Goodwill Keystone is preparing to open a new store and donation center at 955 E. Lancaster Avenue in Downingtown, with an official grand opening set for October 16. The facility will include generous retail and donation spaces, free electronics recycling, and create 30 new jobs. All proceeds support Goodwill’s mission of workforce training and community services.
