Eight Startups Share $35,000 in PA Innovation Contest

MALVERN, PA β Eight startups from southeastern Pennsylvania received $35,000 in prizes at the LionCage Pitch Competition on November 14. NoPlex, a Horsham company creating an ADHD and anxiety management app, won the $10,000 top prize plus an additional $5,000 award. The event at Penn State Great Valley featured 23 entrepreneurs competing in nine categories before an audience of 150 business and community leaders. Other winners included healthcare technology, wireless infrastructure, veteran support, and AI-driven solutions across various industries. Goodwill Partners with Reworld to Expand Electronic Waste Collection

DOWNINGTOWN, PA β Goodwill Keystone Area now offers free electronics recycling at stores across 22 counties in central and southeastern Pennsylvania, including television disposal. Through a partnership with e-waste vendor Reworld, the program accepts computers, entertainment electronics, phones, cameras, and small appliances. Large appliances containing freon or mercury, along with batteries and hazardous waste, cannot be accepted. The initiative responds to Pennsylvania's Covered Device Recycling Act 108.
Historic Yellow Springs Begins Restoration of Storm-Damaged Building

CHESTER SPRINGS, PA β Historic Yellow Springs has begun construction to restore the storm-damaged Yeaworth House in West Pikeland Township. The project will strengthen and modernize the roof structure following damage from a tree fall and severe July storm. The Chester Springs Library completed its contents removal before construction started. Several large sycamore trees on the property will be removed Wednesday due to deterioration, with new plantings to follow.
Unexpected Delays Push Back Caln Township Leaf Vacuuming

CALN TWP β Caln Township's leaf vacuuming schedule is running behind due to unexpected delays and the Thanksgiving holiday. Township officials said crews will continue collecting leaves for several weeks and will make multiple passes through streets. Residents were asked for patience as the township works through the revised schedule.
