A Jersey Shore Icon, Born in Chester County, Rises Again in Phoenixville
Phoenixville, PA — A 133-year-old amusement park wheel, built in Phoenixville and famous for decades along the Asbury Park, N.J., boardwalk, is back on its feet. The Phoenix Wheel — which predates the patent for the Ferris wheel — is now fully erected on Bridge Street in Phoenixville, where it will stand as an illuminated sculpture. A ribbon cutting is set for June 6th. The $2.2 million restoration project, led by the Schuylkill River Heritage Center and local fabricator Gern Jaeger, reunites the wheel with the Chester County town where it was first built in 1893.

Activist Group Gathers at Historic Courthouse in WC, Students Speak to Crowd
WEST CHESTER, PA — Thousands gathered at the Historic Courthouse in West Chester on Saturday for No Kings 3, a peaceful rally opposing Trump administration policies. Organized by Chester County Indivisible, the event was distinctive in handing the podium almost entirely to high school students, who spoke on immigration, women's rights, arts funding, and civic responsibility. Chester County Commissioners Chair Josh Maxwell emceed, framing his role as a listener rather than a leader. It was one of four demonstrations held across Chester County that day.
East Caln Township Begins Stormwater Pipe Repairs on Bell Tavern Boulevard
EAST CALN TWP — East Caln Township has begun underground stormwater pipe repairs along Bell Tavern Boulevard between Route 113 and Bell Tavern Road. The work will last roughly four weeks, with traffic reduced to one lane when crews are active. The road stays open throughout. A second phase, involving pipe lining to extend infrastructure lifespan, is planned for this summer.

Stephanie Smith, who serves as the department's Finance and Administrative Services Manager, has successfully passed the Certified Parks and Recreation Professional examination — a nationally recognized credential that reflects both technical knowledge and a commitment to the field of parks and recreation management.
