UWCHLAN TWP — Residents looking for a way to get outdoors and give back have a new opportunity at Baird Park. The Heart of Uwchlan, the group behind the park's pollinator gardens, has launched regular volunteer meetups where participants can learn about sustainable gardening and connect with neighbors.

Sessions are held twice a month: an evening session on the first Tuesday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., and a morning session on the third Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. The gardens support bees, butterflies and other pollinators essential to local ecosystems.

The project recently added new members to its core team, including several Pennsylvania Master Naturalists and volunteers from a pollinator garden group at Eisai Corporation. Those interested in joining can email [email protected] for meetup details.

CALN TWP — Ingleside Golf Club is giving new members an early start on next season. Golfers who purchase a 2027 membership now will receive free golf, including a cart, for the remainder of 2026.

Beyond the promotion, membership includes guest passes for friends and family, free range balls and practice facility access, a complimentary USGA GHIN Handicap Index for tracking official handicaps, and 10 percent off pro shop merchandise.

GLENMOORE, PA — Springton Manor Farm will host a program next month dedicated to one of nature's smartest and most misunderstood birds. "The Crow You Don't Know," led by Echo Dell Nature Conservancy, takes place Saturday, Oct. 24, from 10 to 11 a.m.

The session will examine crows from two angles: the science of their remarkable intelligence and the folklore that has long linked them with mischief and mystery. With Halloween around the corner, the program offers a seasonal look at a familiar bird.

CALN TWP — The deadline is approaching for Caln Township's fall chipping program. Residents have until Wednesday, Sept. 30, to register by calling the Public Works Department at 610-384-0600, ext. 140. Slots are limited, so early sign-up is encouraged.

Chipping crews will begin their rounds Monday, Oct. 5, collecting and chipping branches left neatly at the curb. Branches must be no larger than 6 inches in diameter, stumps will not be taken, and crews will spend a maximum of 15 minutes at each address.
