Glenmoore Eagle Little League Defeats Maryland to Secure World Series Spot

GLENMOORE/EAGLE, PA — For the fifth consecutive year, a Pennsylvania team has earned its place in the Little League World Series. This time, it’s Glenmoore, whose young players continued their undefeated tournament run with a decisive 7-1 win over Maryland on Thursday in Bristol, Conn.
The victory marked Glenmoore’s second triumph over Maryland in a week, underscoring their dominance in both pitching and hitting. Early offensive bursts gave them a steady lead, while disciplined pitching and sharp defense held Maryland to a single run. Next Thursday, Glenmoore will face South Dakota, the Midwest champions, in Williamsport.
Pennsylvania's own Glenmoore Eagle LL will represent Mid-Atlantic in Williamsport! #LLWS

DVRPC Releases Draft Long-Range Plan for 2050, Invites Feedback

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission has opened public comment on its draft Update: Connections 2050, a long-range transportation and development plan that will guide policy and investment decisions for Greater Philadelphia through 2050. The plan, updated every four years, pairs broad regional goals with a financial strategy that allocates anticipated federal, state, and local funds to transportation projects from 2026 to 2050.
The draft includes a summary document detailing the vision, goals, policies, and strategies, and an appendix with technical data and a complete financial plan. Public comment is open until Aug. 20, after which the DVRPC Board is expected to adopt the updated plan in September.

Two New Ways for Local Businesses to Shine in the Downingtown Local Pulse

Downingtown is built on the strength of its small businesses — the shops, restaurants, services, and makers that give our community its unique character. Now, there are two new ways for those businesses to get in front of thousands of engaged local readers through the Downingtown Local Pulse.
We’re introducing two promotional programs designed to give businesses year-round visibility and meaningful connections with our audience:
1. Partner Program

Chester County Nonprofit Brings Therapy Within Reach for Children in Crisis
DOWNINGTOWN, PA — On the latest episode of Good 2 Know in Chester County” Jenny Leigh sits down with Leslie and Jacquie from “A Child’s Light”
A Child’s Light, a nonprofit based in Chester County, provides trauma-informed therapy to children ages 2 to 18 who have experienced abuse or other severe emotional distress. Founded by Leslie Holt just before the onset of COVID-19, the organization has since matched over 200 children with consistent, long-term mental health care. Therapists work on a sliding scale to allow children to continue treatment for up to a year, and services include equine, art, music, somatic, and talk therapy. The model is cost-effective and scalable, aiming to address a growing mental health crisis affecting tens of thousands of children across the region. A Child’s Light also engages with schools, law enforcement, and local families to raise awareness and remove barriers to care.
