Historical Lecture on Forgotten Graves of Irish Railroad Workers Discovered in Downingtown

DOWNINGTOWN, PA โ At a free public program hosted by the Old Caln Historical Society, Dr. William Watson will present the team's findings who have begun excavating a second mass grave of Irish railroad workers in Chester County. The workers died during a cholera outbreak in 1832. The site at Northwood Cemetery in Downingtown was discovered by the same research team that investigated the better-known Duffy's Cut burial ground.
Bam Margera Pleads Not Guilty to Probation Violation After DUI Arrest
WEST CHESTER, PA โ Former "Jackass" star Bam Margera pleaded not guilty Tuesday to violating his probation after being arrested for DUI in September 2024. The arrest violated terms of his probation from a June 2024 disorderly conduct conviction related to an altercation with his brother. Margera, who has struggled with substance abuse and was previously fired from "Jackass Forever," is scheduled to return to court in April.
Yellow Springs Art Show Returns for 53rd Year, Benefiting Historic Preservation

CHESTER SPRINGS, PA โ The 53rd Annual Yellow Springs Art Show will open to the public on April 25, showcasing artwork from regional artists while raising funds for historic preservation in the Chester County village. Among the featured pieces is "Side Eye," an 11-by-14-inch watercolor by artist Donna Steich.
The annual exhibition has become both a cultural event and an important fundraising tool for Yellow Springs, with a portion of each art sale going directly toward preservation initiatives. The village, located in Chester Springs, is known for its 18th-century architecture and its role as a Revolutionary War hospital site.
Now in its fifth decade, the art show has established a successful model that connects art sales with conservation funding, allowing organizers to support the village's historical assets while providing opportunities for regional artists. The exhibition will remain open for several weeks after its April opening, giving the public ample time to view and purchase the works on display.
St. Paul's Lutheran Thrift Sale Successful Year, Looking for Donations

EXTON, PA โ St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Exton raised $17,000 for the Chester County Food Bank through its monthly thrift sales in 2025 but is now seeking donations to replenish inventory. The church accepts most household items 24/7 at its South Village Avenue location but does not take books, upholstered furniture, electronics, or baby equipment. Proceeds also support parsonage repairs.
