Community Tips Lead to Suspect Identification in Exton Store Privacy Case
EXTON, PA — West Whiteland Township police have identified a suspect accused of photographing girls in a Plato's Closet dressing room at the Whiteland Towne Center in Exton. The store reported the incident on Tuesday, and public tips helped investigators identify the individual. No arrest has been made, with authorities expecting to take the suspect into custody next week. The investigation remains active.
Downingtown Police Add All-Terrain Vehicle to Patrol Fleet

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — The Downingtown Police Department has begun using a new all-terrain utility vehicle purchased with a $50,000 state grant. The vehicle allows officers to patrol trails, parks, and wooded areas while providing emergency response capabilities in locations inaccessible to standard police cruisers. The department used the vehicle for the first time during the 2025 Downingtown Christmas Parade.
Video Series Highlights Community's Wildflower Meadow Transformation

Downingtown Raises Annual Refuse Fee to $360 After Fund Depletion

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — Downingtown Borough's annual refuse collection fee will increase from $240 to $360 in 2026 due to higher costs from its contracted waste hauler. The borough used its refuse fund balance to avoid raising fees in 2025, but that reserve has been depleted and must be rebuilt. The refuse fund operates as a pass-through account, with all collected fees going directly to the hauler. Recent billing combined sewer and refuse charges, with refuse billed quarterly in advance and sewer billed in arrears.
