Residents Can Train as Emergency Responders This Spring in Chester County

WEST CHESTER, PA — Chester County is inviting residents to sign up for its spring Community Emergency Response Team training, with registration closing March 11, 2026, ahead of a March 16 start date. The CERT program prepares community volunteers to respond effectively during local emergencies by teaching core skills such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team coordination, and basic disaster medical operations. The program is designed to strengthen community resilience by ensuring that trained volunteers are available to support professional first responders when disasters strike.

Downingtown's Snowball Shuffle Returns March 7, Now With Official Race Timing

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — The 5th Annual Snowball Shuffle 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk returns on Saturday, March 7, at Eagleview Town Center in Exton, hosted by Communities That Care of Greater Downingtown, a coalition dedicated to youth development and positive mental health across the region. This year's event introduces official race timing through Run The Day, with medals going to top overall finishers and age group leaders. Registration is $35 through March 6 — $40 on race day, and $25 for children under 12 — and includes a long-sleeve shirt along with access to post-race amenities including a hot chocolate bar, sweets, and a raffle. The event welcomes competitive runners, casual walkers, and families alike, and proceeds go toward CTC's evidence-based prevention and youth empowerment programs throughout Greater Downingtown. West Bradford Township Plans Series of Events to Mark America's 250th Anniversary
WEST BRADFORD TWP — West Bradford Township and the Friends of Martin's Tavern are marking America's 250th anniversary with a series of local events, including a patriotic celebration in Marshallton on July 19, 2026, community litter cleanups, an Arbor Day tree planting, a Revolutionary War walking tour planned for 2027, and a forthcoming reenactment featuring soldier-diarist Joseph Plumb Martin.
