East Caln Township Seeks Volunteers for Spring Park Cleanup

EAST CALN TWP β€” East Caln Township is organizing a community cleanup event at East Caln Township Park at Bell Tavern on Saturday, April 25, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The township is seeking volunteers to help remove litter and maintain the park, which serves as an important recreational space for local families. Officials say the initiative is part of a broader effort to engage residents in environmental stewardship and preserve shared public spaces. Those interested in participating can register by contacting the township administration office via email at [email protected] or by calling 610-269-1989. Residents who cannot attend the April cleanup can request to be added to a notification list for future volunteer opportunities.

Learn to Host Bluebirds at Springton Manor Farm Workshop

GLENMOORE, PA β€” Chester County Parks and Preservation is offering a workshop on how to attract and support bluebirds on private property. Scheduled for Saturday, March 14, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Springton Manor Farm, the program will be led by Nancy Fraim, the Chester County Coordinator for the Bluebird Society of Pennsylvania. Participants will learn best practices for monitoring nesting boxes, seasonal care techniques, and how to create appropriate bird habitat. The workshop is co-hosted by the Friends of Springton Manor Farm and Echo Dell Conservancy. Bluebirds have recovered from population declines in recent decades, largely due to nest box programs and conservation efforts. Interested residents can register online through the Chester County Parks website.

Chester County Seeks Caseworkers with Higher Starting Pay

WEST CHESER, PA β€” The Chester County Department of Children, Youth and Families has increased salaries for caseworker positions as part of ongoing recruitment efforts. Caseworker II and GPS Specialist roles now start at $51,520 annually, while Caseworker Specialist positions begin at $56,672. The salary adjustments address staffing challenges that have affected child welfare departments across Pennsylvania and the nation, where high turnover rates and recruitment difficulties have become persistent concerns. The positions involve investigating child abuse and neglect reports, coordinating family services, and managing complex cases through the child welfare system. Chester County offers full-time employees comprehensive benefits including medical coverage, paid time off, retirement plans, and life insurance. Interested candidates can apply through the county's employment website.
