Why Overseas Producers Can't Undercut Atlas Salt, Even for Free

Cities are already running short on road salt, and winter hasn't even started. Some supply bids are going unanswered, prices have nearly doubled in parts of the market, and the backup plan is two weeks away by boat. Here's why Atlas Salt (TSXV: SALT | OTCQX: SALQF) can get salt to the people who need it most, faster and cheaper than anyone shipping from overseas:

• Three days by ship to Boston, not fourteen

• Shallow deposit that's cheaper and faster to mine

• Projected C$188M a year in free cash flow

• Export Development Canada interested in lending C$150M

• Early supply deal with top U.S. salt distributor

Community-Funded Eagle Scout Project Plants a Living Legacy in Downingtown

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — On Sunday, 25 volunteers helped Life Scout Case Gibbons of Marshallton Troop 19 plant 30 trees along the edge of the field behind Downingtown Borough Hall. The planting is Case’s service project toward the rank of Eagle Scout. Besides improving the grounds, the trees create a riparian buffer that slows stormwater runoff and helps with flood control.

Case worked with the Downingtown Shade Tree Commission, Restore Our Roots, the borough’s Department of Public Works and Octoraro Native Plant Nursery. Most of the volunteers were teenagers from Troop 19 and the Downingtown High School West National Honor Society. Community donations covered the full cost, and each donor could dedicate a tree to a loved one, making many of the trees living memorials.

North America doesn’t mine enough road salt for its own winters. Atlas Salt (TSXV: SALT) is developing a Newfoundland mine to help close that gap, projected to generate C$188M a year.

Route 202 Reopens in King of Prussia After Months of Sinkhole Repairs

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — A section of Route 202 in King of Prussia reopened to traffic this week, ending a closure that lasted since February. The shutdown was needed for a long-term project to fix sinkholes that had kept returning along the road in Upper Merion Township. On Wednesday afternoon, crews painted lane lines near Henderson Road and Saulin Boulevard, one of the last steps before the road reopened. Commuters, including many traveling from Chester County, can now use the corridor without detours.

New Good2Know Episode: A Downingtown Dad's Fight Against Sanfilippo Syndrome

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — A new episode of Good2Know in Chester County features Mike Dobbyn, a Downingtown father and rare disease advocate. His son Connor, now almost 18, was diagnosed in 2019 with Sanfilippo Syndrome, an incurable genetic disease often called childhood Alzheimer’s, after years of incomplete diagnoses.

Mike explains how rare disease families often have to raise research money themselves. His family’s 2020 short film, Save Connor, made with the Cure Sanfilippo Foundation, helped get their fundraising started. Local businesses have supported them through restaurant nights and a yearly Designer Purse Drag Queen Bingo, and all proceeds go toward a clinical trial for a cure. Mike also started the Sanfilippo Project interview series and hosts the Rare Dads Roundtable, an international support group for fathers.

A former Wall Street trader and financial advisor, Mike now runs Downingtown Tax Group with his father and his wife, a setup that lets him stay close to Connor. He credits the Owen J. Roberts school staff for their daily care of his son and says his weekly soccer league helps keep him going.
