Downingtown's Dublin Brewing Clears Final Hurdles After Four Year Journey
DOWNINGTOWN, PA โ After more than four years of regulatory delays, permitting hurdles and self-funded construction, Brendan FitzGerald is nearing the opening of Dublin Brewing Company at 113 Wallace Ave. in Downingtown. With most inspections complete and a soft April launch as an event space in sight, FitzGerald remains committed to his original vision: a lively, authentic Irish pub experience for the Downingtown community.
95 Volunteers, 153 Bags and One Mystery Set of Dentures: Caln Clean Up Weekend Wraps Up
CALN TWP โ Caln Township's Clean Up Weekend brought out 95 volunteers who collected a combined 153 bags of trash, 13 tires, a rain gutter, multiple basketballs, six gas cans and a pair of dentures from local streets and public spaces. Despite the variety of discarded items, the township reported that the total litter collected was lower than in previous years, suggesting that the annual event โ and the volunteer culture surrounding it โ may be gradually improving conditions across the community.
Participating groups included Breathe Community Church, Boy Scout Troop 117 of Coatesville, Cub Scout Pack 2 of Downingtown and the Caln Clean Up Crew. Midway Grill in Thorndale kept volunteers fueled by providing lunch, while the township's Public Works department managed the logistics of hauling and disposing of all collected materials.

A Stress-Free Ride to Washington's Famous Cherry Blossom Festival This Spring

DOWNINGTOWN, PA โ DARC is organizing a day trip to Washington for the National Cherry Blossom Festival, giving local residents an easy, affordable way to take in one of the most popular springtime events on the East Coast without dealing with the cost and stress of driving into the capital themselves.
The bus departs from the rear parking lot of Ashbridge Manor and drops passengers near the National Mall, where they are free to spend approximately eight hours sightseeing, visiting Smithsonian museums, walking to the monuments, or simply taking in the festival atmosphere around the Tidal Basin. Pickup near the Mall or Tidal Basin is scheduled for around 5:00 p.m., with an estimated return of 8:00 p.m. and no stops on the ride home. The drive between the Downingtown area and Washington typically runs between two hours and fifteen minutes to two hours and forty-five minutes, depending on traffic.
