DOWNINGTOWN, PA — The results are in for the Best of Downingtown Summer/Fall 2026 poll, and in more than a few categories, the outcome came down to a narrow margin.

The reader-driven contest, organized by the Downingtown Local Pulse, asked residents to name their favorite businesses, services and local fixtures across the borough. Turnout was strong, organizers said, with several races decided by only a small number of votes.

The newsletter plans to run additional polls in the months ahead and is encouraging readers to keep casting ballots for the people and places they value most in the community.

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — The Downingtown Police Department is investigating a shooting reported in the area of Norwood House Road in Downingtown Borough at about 2:48 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12. Responding officers confirmed there were no injuries and took one person into custody as part of their initial investigation. Residents were advised to expect an increased police presence in the area Saturday afternoon while the investigation continued. Police stressed that the incident poses no ongoing threat to the community, and no additional details have been released.

EXTON, PA — Police in West Whiteland Township are seeking John T. Delaney, 54, who is wanted on a bench warrant issued Sept. 11 through Magisterial District Court 15-4-03. The charges include defiant trespass, involving an allegation that he had been directly told not to enter a property, along with public drunkenness. Police describe him as a white man, 5 feet 10 inches tall, about 185 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information on his location is asked to contact the department at 610-363-0200. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

WEST BRADFORD TWP — West Bradford Township is calling on residents to join its annual Northbrook Road cleanup on Saturday, Oct. 17. Organized by the West Bradford Litter Lifters and the Friends of Martin's Tavern, the free, all-ages event runs from 8 a.m. to noon, with volunteers meeting at Humphry Marshall Park near the Martin's Tavern ruins.
