One Week Remains to Register for Downingtown's Annual Christmas Parade

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — The Downingtown Christmas Parade will take place in three weeks, with registration closing on November 29. Parade organizers have set a firm deadline with no extensions, noting that a strong lineup of participants has already formed. Community members and organizations interested in joining the holiday procession can register through the parade's website.

County Names Andrew Kreider, Former EPA Official as New Communications Director

WEST CHESTER, PA — Chester County has appointed Andrew Kreider as its new Communications Director, effective December 1. Kreider brings extensive experience from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, where he served as Senior Congressional Liaison for Region 3 and Communications Director for the Philadelphia office. He will replace Rebecca Brain, who is retiring after 19 years leading county communications. Kreider will oversee all communications operations for the county's 2,400 employees, including media relations, social media strategy, and internal communications.

Hibernia Mansion to Offer Holiday Candlelight Tours in December

COATESVILLE, PA — Hibernia Mansion will host candlelight holiday tours December 6-8, presented by the Friends of Hibernia County Park. The "Sights + Sounds of the Holidays" tours will run Friday and Saturday evenings from 5:30 to 8 p.m., with a Sunday afternoon session from 2 to 4 p.m. Admission is cash-only at the door: $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-10, and free for children under 5. The historic Coatesville mansion will be decorated for the season, offering visitors a candlelit tour experience.

Chester County Community Foundation Celebrates 31 Years of Philanthropy

WEST CHESTER, PA — The Chester County Community Foundation celebrated its 31st anniversary at The Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center, honoring local philanthropists and presenting its annual report. The foundation, which manages 436 funds totaling $136 million, distributed $6.6 million this year through grants and scholarships. Attorney Joseph Bellinghieri, developer Anthony Stancato, and Stanley's Dream Charitable Fund received special recognition. The event highlighted the foundation's mission of connecting donors with community causes while looking ahead to America250 celebrations marking the Declaration of Independence's 250th anniversary.
