WEST CHESTER, PA — Chester County's first-ever chief executive officer, David Byerman, departed the role Monday without explanation. His exit prompted a quiet reshuffling of senior titles on the county's website, with Erik Walschburger reverting to the title of county administrator and Megan Moser moving from chief experience officer to deputy county administrator. No successor has been named.

EXTON, PA — Chester County residents have a new option for obtaining a U.S. passport: the Chester County Library in Exton is now accepting applications for those submitting Form DS-11. The service covers a broad range of applicants — including those applying for the first time, children under 16, anyone whose prior passport was issued before age 16, and those whose passport has been lost, stolen, damaged, or has been expired for more than 15 years. The addition of a library location offers a more accessible, community-based alternative to traditional passport facilities in the area. Appointments are required and can be made by calling 610-344-5957.

WEST PIKELAND TWP — Matthew McBride was sworn in as a full-time West Pikeland Police Officer on Monday, March 2. McBride had served the department part-time since February 2023, earning the promotion through consistent performance and dedication to the department's mission.

EXTON, PA — The West Whiteland Police Department is investigating a shoplifting incident that occurred on February 16 at the LensCrafters store at 289 Main Street in Exton. Surveillance images of the suspected individuals have been released, and detectives are asking residents to review them and reach out if they can help make an identification.
