Chester County Commits $3.27 Million to House Homeless Families

WEST CHESTER, PA โ Chester County has committed $3.27 million in federal and state funds to create a 10-unit emergency shelter for homeless families in West Chester, the largest single housing investment in county history. The new non-congregate facility, operated by Friends Association, will provide families with private living spaces and bathrooms, expanding total county shelter capacity from 16 to 26 units. Officials say the expansion will eliminate the family shelter waitlist and ensure no children sleep outside or in cars.
County Releases Findings on November Election Poll Book Failure
WEST CHESTER, PA โ Chester County has released an independent investigation into poll book errors during the November 2025 election and outlined an action plan to prevent future problems. The report, conducted by law firm Fleck Eckert Klein McGarry, includes recommendations that county commissioners largely support and plan to implement. County officials spent the past month reviewing the findings, meeting with voter services staff, and developing additional reforms beyond those suggested in the report. The findings will be discussed at a public Board of Elections meeting on January 27. More info online
