Coatesville Fire Department Awarded $58,700 for Medical Equipment

COATESVILLE, PA β The Coatesville Bureau of Fire has been awarded a $58,700 state grant to purchase CPR devices and emergency medical equipment. State Rep. Dan Williams announced the funding, which comes through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development's community support programs. The grant aims to enhance the department's emergency response capabilities.
Chester County Replaces Gas Buses with Propane-Powered Fleet

WEST CHESTER, PA β The Chester County Department of Community Transit is transitioning its Chesco Connect fleet from gasoline to propane-powered buses, a move officials say will advance environmental goals while generating substantial cost savings.
The county has already placed seven propane buses into service, with nine additional vehicles scheduled to arrive by February 2026. Chesco Connect, which provides door-to-door shared transportation for county residents, completed more than 141,000 trips during the 2024-2025 fiscal year, averaging 556 daily rides across nearly 1.8 million service miles.
Arson Suspect Faces Charges After Fire at Chester County Rehab Facility
PAOLI, PA β A 40-year-old woman has been charged with arson after allegedly setting a fire at Green Meadows Rehabilitation Center in Paoli on December 12. Margaret Curran of Honey Brook faces charges including causing catastrophe and recklessly endangering others. The early morning fire displaced 15 residents and sent several staff members to the hospital for smoke inhalation treatment.
East Coventry Planners Reject Data Center Zoning Change

EAST COVENTRY TWP β The East Coventry planning commission unanimously voted Thursday to recommend denying Constellation Energy's request to change township zoning to permit a data center on Route 724, a decision that could set up a legal battle over the proposed facility.
The 4-0 vote, with Vice Chairman Lance Parson absent, came before a standing-room-only crowd of nearly 100 residents. The recommendation will be forwarded to the board of supervisors for consideration as early as February.
Constellation confirmed last month it had purchased 80 acres on five adjacent parcels in commercial and limited industrial zones, using shell companies to complete the transactions. The company requested the zoning amendment through a law firm in October after months of township deliberation on the issue.
Planning Commission Chairman Lawrence Tietjen explained that East Coventry has no legal obligation to permit data centers because Douglass Township in Montgomery County already allows them under its zoning. As a member of the Pottstown Metropolitan Regional Planning Commission, East Coventry is not required to zone for every use if another municipality in the eight-township compact already does so.
