$200,000 Grant Helps South Coatesville Create Municipal Manager Role
SOUTH COATESVILLE, PA β South Coatesville Borough will hire its first full-time municipal manager using a $200,000 state grant. The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development funding will cover salary and benefits for the new position, which aims to strengthen daily operations and support long-term planning.
Chester County Planning Chief Joins Regional Panel on Development

The event gathered representatives from across southeastern Pennsylvania to address planning, development, and infrastructure issues affecting the region.
Upper Uwchlan's Christmas Village Brings Local Shopping to Beer Garden

UPPER UWCHLAN TWP β Upper Uwchlan Township's Christmas Village takes place this weekend at The Stables Beer Garden, featuring three days of local vendors, food trucks, and holiday shopping. The event runs Friday through Sunday with rotating artisans selling handmade goods, jewelry, clothing, and seasonal items. Organizers are encouraging residents to support local makers during the holiday season.
Rare Piebald Deer Spotted in Spring City Backyard
SPRING CITY, PA β A Chester County resident captured video of an unusually colored white-tailed deer in his Spring City backyard this week, marking the second reported sighting of such an animal in Pennsylvania in recent days. Julian Bozzelli recorded footage of the piebald deer, which displays distinctive white and brown patches across its coat.
The rare coloring results from a genetic mutation that disrupts normal melanin production, affecting less than 1% of the white-tailed deer population according to wildlife biologists. Unlike albino deer, which are completely white with pink eyes, piebald animals retain some natural coloring and typically have dark eyes. The extent of white patterning varies considerably among individual piebald deer.
Earlier in the week, a separate piebald deer was recorded on a doorbell camera in East Stroudsburg in the Pocono Mountains, suggesting these rare animals may be more present in Pennsylvania than their low occurrence rate would indicate, or that increased home surveillance technology is simply documenting wildlife encounters more frequently.
