Chester County Towns Declare Snow Emergencies as Storm Threatens Up to 17 Inches
DOWNINGTOWN, PA — A powerful winter storm prompted widespread snow emergency declarations across Chester County on Sunday, with municipalities including Downingtown, West Chester, Phoenixville and others restricting parking on emergency routes ahead of an expected 11 to 17 inches of snow. The National Weather Service has a Winter Storm Warning in effect through Monday evening. Peak snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour are anticipated Sunday night, with wind gusts potentially reaching 45 mph. Travel disruptions, possible transit suspensions and post-storm sidewalk clearing requirements are all expected to affect residents through at least Tuesday.
West Whiteland Police Seek Tips in February Retail Theft at Exton Shopping Center
EXTON, PA — The West Whiteland Township Police Department has released an image of an unidentified individual suspected of shoplifting at the Marshalls and HomeGoods store located at 436 W. Lincoln Highway in Exton. The alleged theft occurred on February 20, 2026, and the case has been filed under reference number WW-26-02003.
Investigators are asking members of the public who may recognize the individual pictured — or who have any information related to the incident — to reach out directly to Officer C. DeLaney, the assigned officer on the case. DeLaney can be reached by phone at (610) 363-0200 ext. 1025 or via email at [email protected].
Downingtown Area Chamber of Commerce Names Award Winners 2026
DOWNINGTOWN, PA — The Downingtown Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its 80th Annual Dinner and Civic Awards on March 11 at Downingtown Country Club and Seven Tap-Tavern. This year's award winners are the Hankin Group (Business of the Year), Lord's Pantry (Non-Profit of the Year) and Kevin Zeeger (Citizen of the Year). Tickets are open to the public at dtownchamber.com.
'The Guiding Light': Chester County DA's Top Administrator Steps Down After Nearly Four Decades
WEST CHESTER, PA — Cheryl Greener retired this year after 38 years as administrator of the Chester County District Attorney's Office, closing out a career in which she served under six district attorneys and became one of the most respected figures at the Justice Center in West Chester. Colleagues remembered her as a steady, compassionate leader whose behind-the-scenes management kept the office running through decades of change. A Coatesville native and West Chester University alumna, Greener was honored with a plaque recognizing her service before departing in early 2026.
