Cheesesteaks for a Cause: West Chester Event Supports Autism Research

WEST CHESTER, PA — Lorenzo’s Steaks & Hoagies in West Chester will host a community event blending food, football spirit, and charitable giving. On Saturday from 12 to 4 p.m., a popular local influencer, The Godfather of Meat, will be on site for a pep rally-style afternoon featuring raffles and giveaways. Most importantly, a portion of all cheesesteak sales during the event will benefit the Eagles Autism Foundation, supporting autism research and care initiatives. The event is expected to bring out both loyal customers and newcomers eager to support a meaningful cause.
Toys for Tots 2025 Drive Underway in Chester County

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — The 2025 Toys for Tots toy drive has begun in Chester and Montgomery Counties, with donation sites open through December 6. The program, which assisted over 15,000 children last year, provides holiday gifts to families with children up to 18 years old. Organizers highlight a recurring shortage of toys for the youngest (0–2) and oldest (11+) age groups and are urging the public to prioritize these ages when donating. Toys can be dropped off at local Township Offices during listed hours, and an online donation option is available via the campaign’s virtual toy drive, which runs through December 1.

West Chester East narrowly held off West Chester Henderson 27–26, and Rustin kept Great Valley scoreless in a 21–0 result. Oxford edged Avon Grove 14–7, and Kennett slipped past Unionville 24–21 in another close game. Malvern Prep will round out the weekend action with a Saturday matchup at Germantown Academy.

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — For over a decade, Zach’s Automotive Services in Romansville has stood out as a local business built on honesty and hands-on care. Run by Zach and Missy, the shop handles everything from inspections to complex repairs across all makes and models. Two New Ways for Local Businesses to Shine in the Downingtown Local Pulse

Downingtown is built on the strength of its small businesses — the shops, restaurants, services, and makers that give our community its unique character. Now, there are two new ways for those businesses to get in front of thousands of engaged local readers through the Downingtown Local Pulse.
We’re introducing two promotional programs designed to give businesses year-round visibility and meaningful connections with our audience:
1. Partner Program
This package gives businesses a featured listing in our Local Business Directory, making it easy for residents to find and support you. Partners also receive:
A monthly Business Spotlight article that tells your story.
A pinned article on our website for maximum visibility.
Exposure to our massive Facebook audience, with each feature shared across our highly engaged social channels.
2. Patron Program
For businesses ready to take their visibility to the next level, the Patron Program includes everything in the Partner Program plus:
A top-level ad placement one issue a month, ensuring your brand stays front and center.
Both programs are built to keep your business in the local conversation month after month — not just as an ad, but as a valued part of the community’s story.
Whether you’re a family-run shop, a growing startup, or a well-established local favorite, these programs offer an affordable way to boost your visibility while supporting the Downingtown Local Pulse’s mission to celebrate the people and businesses that make our town special.
