Clean Audit for Downingtown's Employee Pension Fund

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — A state audit found Downingtown Borough's non-uniformed employee pension plan in full compliance with Pennsylvania law, a relatively rare outcome for local governments. The review examined operations through 2024 and found the borough properly managed contributions, benefits and administrative requirements. The plan covers 23 active employees and received no state aid during the review period, relying instead on borough contributions that grew from $101,600 to $181,800 between 2019 and 2024.

Former Famous Dave's CEO Acquires 10 Iron Hill Locations in Bankruptcy Sale


WEST CHESTER, PA — Jeff Crivello, former CEO of Famous Dave's, has received bankruptcy court approval to acquire 10 Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant locations, including the West Chester site. The sale, approved this week in federal court, involves a $12 million credit bid plus additional payments for liquor licenses and liabilities. Crivello plans to either reopen the locations as Iron Hill restaurants or convert them to new concepts.

West Bradford Township Launches Holiday Decorating Contest

WEST BRADFORD TWP — West Bradford Township has launched a holiday house decorating contest inviting residents to showcase their seasonal displays and compete for prizes. Homeowners can enter the competition by registering their properties through the township's contest portal before the December 16 midnight deadline. After entries close, public voting will open on December 18 and continue through December 29, allowing community members to view and vote on participating homes. The township plans to announce contest winners on December 30. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers, recognizing first, second and third place homes in the competition.

West Bradford Township Seeks Pets for Monthly Feature Program

WEST BRADFORD TWP — West Bradford Township has opened nominations for its "Pet of the Month" program, inviting residents to submit their companion animals for a chance to be featured in township communications.

Selected pets will be showcased in West Bradford's electronic newsletter and across the municipality's social media platforms, giving local animals and their owners a moment in the community spotlight. The township is accepting submissions for dogs, cats and other pets through its website.
