Analytics on Live Data. No Pipeline. Just Postgres.
Most teams treat analytics as a separate problem. As data grows, they add a warehouse, a pipeline, a sync job. By the time data reaches their dashboard, it's already stale.
TimescaleDB takes a different approach: extend Postgres instead of splitting away from it.
Your transactions and your analytics run on the same database, on live data, with no pipeline in between.
Hypertables partition time-series data automatically as volume grows. Hypercore compression cuts storage by up to 95%. Continuous aggregates pre-compute rollups so dashboards stay fast without re-querying everything.
CERN runs it on Postgres to handle sensor data from the Large Hadron Collider.
No second database. No migration. Same Postgres you already know.

Chester County Conservation District Wins Statewide Environmental Award

Ag Team Leader Dan Miloser
KENNETT SQUARE, PA — The Chester County Conservation District (CCCD) has been recognized with a 2026 Governor's Award for Environmental Excellence, one of Pennsylvania's top honors for environmental stewardship. The award celebrates CCCD's sustained work collaborating with area farmers and landowners to cut down on non-point source pollution — runoff that seeps into local waterways from farmland and other land uses rather than from a single traceable source. Because this type of pollution depends on voluntary landowner cooperation rather than a fixed regulatory target, addressing it is widely viewed as one of the more complex challenges in watershed protection. Dan Miloser, the district's agricultural team leader, has been central to these efforts, working directly with the farming community to encourage conservation-minded practices.
Kerr Park Playground and Pavilions to Close for Tree Work

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — Downingtown Borough officials have announced that several areas of Kerr Park will be temporarily closed this week to allow crews to perform tree maintenance. The closures will affect the park's playground, pavilions and back parking lot, and are scheduled for Tuesday, July 14, and Wednesday, July 15. Borough officials have not specified the scope of the maintenance work but have asked residents to exercise caution if they visit the park while it is underway.
Chambers Lake to Close Briefly for Invasive Plant Treatment

COATESVILLE, PA — Chambers Lake at Hibernia County Park will temporarily close to the public beginning the evening of July 14, reopening sometime in the afternoon of July 15, as crews carry out the third in a series of herbicide treatments aimed at controlling invasive aquatic plants. The effort, led by the Chester County Water Resources Authority in partnership with Chester County Parks + Preservation, targets hydrilla and brittle naiad, two invasive species identified in a 2024 vegetation assessment that found eight total plant species in the lake, five native and three invasive. Left unmanaged, officials say, these fast-spreading invasives can crowd out native vegetation, harm water quality and disrupt the lake's ecological balance. The treatment uses a Sonar-brand herbicide applied by air boat — a method that requires temporarily closing the lake for public safety but is designed to target invasive species while sparing native plants. The product is approved for use by both federal and state regulators, and the project operates under a joint permit from Pennsylvania's environmental and fish and boat agencies. Once the application is complete, the lake will reopen for regular recreational use, including boating and fishing, with no restrictions on eating fish caught there; the only lingering limitation is a temporary ban on drawing lake water for irrigation. One additional treatment is scheduled for roughly three weeks later, weather permitting, and officials say further updates on closures will be shared through social media and the water authority's website.
DARC to Host Geocaching Camp for Kids This August

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — Downingtown's recreation department is offering a week-long Geocaching Treasure Hunts Camp this August, giving children ages 8 to 12 the chance to combine classic treasure-hunting games with modern GPS-based geocaching. Running from August 17 to 21 at Kerr Park, the camp will be led by experienced staff who will teach campers how to operate GPS units, locate hidden caches, and take part in a variety of active, team-oriented outdoor challenges throughout the week. Two scheduling options are available: a half-day session from 9 a.m. to noon, priced at $245 for residents and $265 for non-residents, or a full-day option running from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., priced at $458 for residents and $478 for non-residents. The camp is designed to introduce children to geocaching as a way to build navigation skills and enjoy outdoor exploration in a structured, social setting. Registration is currently open through the recreation department's online portal.
