Brandywine Battlefield Park Marks Pennsylvania's 345th Birthday With Free Admission and Living History

CHADDS FORD, PA — On Sunday, March 8, Brandywine Battlefield Park will commemorate Pennsylvania's 345th birthday with a free, family-friendly event from noon to 4 p.m. in Chadds Ford. The celebration offers visitors complimentary access to the park's museum and General Washington's Headquarters, along with living history interpreters and colonial demonstrations designed to bring the Revolutionary era to life. More information can be found at brandywinebattlefield.org.
CKY Bassist Says He Left Over Toxicity. The Frontman Says It Was About Dogs.

WEST CHESTER, PA — CKY, the alt-metal band from West Chester, Pennsylvania, is searching for a new bassist after a messy and very public split with Mike Leon, who had been with the group for under a year. Leon took to Instagram over the weekend to announce his exit, describing an environment he found professionally toxic and citing what he called a persistent lack of accountability within the band — issues he said had been flagged by others in the industry long before he joined. He singled out frontman Chad I Ginsburg as the primary source of the dysfunction, calling the experience particularly painful given that CKY had been an early inspiration for his music career.
Ginsburg responded in a since-deleted Instagram video with a notably different explanation: that Leon had been fired the previous night over his dislike of dogs, his unwillingness to bring them on tour, and dissatisfaction with his pay. Ginsburg dismissed Leon's account and publicly challenged him to back up his claims.
The dispute arrives against a backdrop of prior controversy for the band. In 2024, CKY was removed from a tour after Ginsburg allegedly punched Alien Ant Farm's Dryden Mitchell and exhibited other reported behavioral issues. With a York County show on the horizon, Ginsburg has already begun accepting bassist auditions.
From Commuter Route to Conservation Corridor: Chester County Eyes Pollinator Initiative Along Route 30
WEST CHESTER, PA — Chester County environmental advocates are taking aim at one of the region's busiest roadways with a plan that's as much about ecology as it is aesthetics. Keep Chester County Beautiful and the Easttown Township Environmental Advisory Council have scheduled an introductory virtual meeting for March 18 at noon to gauge interest in developing a Route 30 Pollinator Corridor — a connected stretch of native plantings and pollinator-friendly habitat running along the well-traveled route.
The meeting is geared toward businesses and organizations with a presence near the Route 30 corridor, inviting them to explore what participation in such an initiative might look like. Pollinator corridors have become an increasingly popular conservation strategy, designed to address the widespread decline of bees, butterflies, and other species critical to local ecosystems and agriculture. Registration is available through the Chester County Planning Commission's Zoom link.
Chester County Parks and Preservation Opens Applications for Two Regional Park Ranger Positions

WEST CHESTER, PA — Chester County Parks and Preservation is hiring two full-time Regional Park Rangers to help maintain safety, enforce county ordinances, and support visitor education across the county's parks and trails. Applicants need at least two years of relevant experience and must complete a series of certifications within the first year of employment. Full details are available on the county's job portal.
