Walking Path Through The Ponds to Close Nov. 24–26 for Improvements

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — Downingtown Borough has announced a temporary closure of the walking trail through The Ponds at Kardon Park, effective November 24 through November 26. The affected section runs between East Pennsylvania Avenue and Norwood Road and will be closed to allow crews to complete minor reconstruction and paving work. Borough officials are asking residents to steer clear of the trail during this period, as heavy equipment will be operating throughout the area.
Chester County's 2026 Budget: Steady Taxes, Rising Investment in Services and Capital Projects

WEST CHESTER, PA — Chester County has proposed a $778.6 million budget for 2026 that holds property taxes steady while increasing spending on human services, infrastructure, and capital projects. The plan, developed amid federal and state fiscal uncertainty, includes $666.4 million in operating expenses and $112.2 million in capital investments. Commissioners will vote on the budget December 19. You can view the preliminary budget and presentation on the County’s website.
Positions Open on Caln Township Boards; Applications Now Accepted

CALN TWP — Caln Township is recruiting volunteers to serve on five advisory bodies that help guide local policy decisions. The township has nine positions to fill: two seats on the Historical Commission (five-year terms), one on the Municipal Authority (five years), one on the Parks and Recreation Board (five years), two on the Planning Commission (four years), and three alternate positions on the Zoning Hearing Board (two years).
These boards and commissions advise township officials on matters including historic preservation, infrastructure, recreational facilities, land use planning, and zoning appeals. Residents interested in contributing to their community's governance are encouraged to apply through the township website or contact staff for additional information.
West Whiteland Police Ask Public's Help in Locating Theft Suspect

EXTON, PA — West Whiteland Township police are searching for Brandy Marie Hickman, 46, who is wanted on retail theft and receiving stolen property charges following an incident at an Exton business. A warrant was issued November 14. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
