Beaver Creek Gets Its Annual Trout Restock as Fishing Season Nears

CALN TWP — Caln Township welcomed the return of trout season preparations this week as the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission restocked Beaver Creek at Lloyd Park. The effort brought together several local agencies — including the Caln Township Professional Firefighters, Thorndale Fire Company, the Caln Township Police Department, and Parks & Recreation staff — to assist with the transfer. The process carries a strict two-minute time window to move fish from buckets to water, making community coordination essential to the fish's survival. With the creek now restocked, residents can look ahead to the season opener on the first Saturday of April at 8:00 a.m.

A Corner of Gratitude: East Brandywine Park Adds Bronze Plaque to Its Thank You Bed

EAST BRANDYWINE TWP — East Brandywine Community Park marked a quiet but meaningful milestone with the installation of a bronze plaque at its Thank You Bed. The plaque joins a Liberty Bell and Proud Eagle already on display in the space, rounding out what has become a dedicated tribute within the park's grounds. The inscription recognizes the wide range of individuals — volunteers, staff members, regular visitors, and financial supporters — whose collective efforts have contributed to the park's development.

Downingtown Borough Rolls Out New Software

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — Downingtown Borough is rolling out a significant software upgrade this month, transitioning to BS&A — a platform built to handle essential municipal operations including financial management, permitting, and sewer and refuse billing. The change is designed to improve efficiency across both internal systems and public-facing online services. For residents, the most noticeable effects will be a redesigned sewer and refuse bill format and a new online payment portal. During the transition itself, online payments will be temporarily unavailable, though borough officials have indicated the new system will be fully functional before the next billing period in April.
