WCU Football Spotlighted on CBS News Ahead of Home Opener

WEST CHESTER, PA — West Chester University was recently featured on CBS 3 for embracing a resurgence in its football program, kickstarted by its home opener against Seton Hill on September 20. The school has introduced a range of new game‑day attractions—concerts, pep rallies, a “Purple Pit” event for students, a Kids’ Zone, and free gear—to widen its appeal and deepen community involvement. On the field, four running backs—Ali Barkley, Khalil Owens, Juke Peaker, and Jamir Robertson—are stepping into leading roles. Barkley draws particular interest due to his connection to the city’s football culture through his brother.

Residents Gather in Kerr Park to Remember Charlie Kirk

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — On Saturday evening, Downingtown residents held a candlelight vigil at Kerr Park’s gazebo to honor the life of Charlie Kirk. Organized by members of the community, the event drew an estimated 100 to 200 attendees. The night featured musical performances by local residents, speeches from friends and supporters, and a spiritual reflection led by a local pastor. The vigil offered a moment for the community to come together in remembrance, reflecting on Kirk’s impact and the legacy he leaves behind

Under the Harvest Moon: Chester County to Host Evening Nature Walk

ATGLEN, PA — To mark the arrival of the Harvest Moon, Chester County Parks & Preservation is organizing a special two-mile night hike through Wolf's Hollow County Park. The event, led by Ranger Henry, will take place on Monday, October 6, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., and aims to provide participants with an immersive seasonal experience. Known for its historical ties to farming—when its bright light helped farmers work into the night—the Harvest Moon continues to be a cherished astronomical event.

Jordan Davis’ Blocked Field Goal TD Caps Eagles’ Wild Comeback Win

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Eagles overcame a sluggish start and a 19-point deficit to defeat the Los Angeles Rams 33-26 in a dramatic home win. A.J. Brown, who had been quiet through the early season, erupted in the second half with 109 receiving yards and a touchdown. Jalen Hurts shook off a stagnant first half to throw for 226 yards and three scores, including the game-winner to DeVonta Smith with under two minutes to play.

The Rams nearly forced overtime, but Jordan Davis blocked a 44-yard field goal attempt with two seconds remaining and returned it 61 yards to clinch the victory.
