Chester County Promotes ReadyChesCo Alerts During Preparedness Month

WEST CHESTER, PA — The Chester County Department of Emergency Services, in coordination with the county commissioners, has designated September as National Preparedness Month. The move is part of a national effort to promote emergency readiness at the local level. Officials emphasized the importance of planning ahead for natural disasters and other emergencies, highlighting the county's official alert system, ReadyChesCo, as a vital tool for staying informed. Residents are encouraged to register online to receive timely updates and alerts tailored to their location.
Chester County Holds Water Rescue Training at Chambers Lake

COATESVILLE, PA — Chester County emergency personnel joined forces over the weekend for a water rescue training exercise at Chambers Lake, temporarily closing the boat ramp to the public. The session, developed by Heroes Next Door, brought together responders from Wagontown, Sadsburyville, and Honey Brook to rehearse coordinated rescue operations.
Sewer Line Work Begins in Uwchlan’s Marchwood Neighborhood

UWCHLAN TWP — Sewer maintenance operations are underway in Uwchlan Township’s Marchwood neighborhood, where Utility Services Group has begun televising and cleaning sewer lines. The project, which started this week, will involve work in public right-of-way areas during daylight hours and is expected to last around two weeks. The township is urging residents to be cautious around work zones as crews carry out necessary maintenance to support the long-term reliability of the sewer infrastructure.
Martin Park Upper Lot Closes for Retaining Wall Repairs
EXTON, PA — The upper parking lot at Martin Park off Laurel Moors Drive is closed to allow for the demolition and repair of a nearby retaining wall. The closure is expected to last three to four weeks, during which time construction crews will work to stabilize and rebuild the structure. While the upper lot is closed, visitors can still access the park via Charles Drive.
Infrastructure Work Prompts Road Closures in Caln

CALN TWP — A water infrastructure project is underway in Caln Township, resulting in the temporary closure of North 11th Avenue between Merchant Street and Foundry Street. The project, which began immediately, will involve daily closures from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. through September 23. As the work progresses, closures will shift southward along 11th Avenue, cross Lincoln Highway, and extend east on Olive Street.
Replay Available on Chester County TV of The Community Gathering in Honor of Charlie Kirk
WEST CHESTER, PA — On September 14, at 3 p.m., over a thousand people converged at the old courthouse steps in West Chester to honor the life and work of Charlie Kirk, conservative leader and Turning Point USA founder, who was recently assassinated. The ceremony, hosted by local political and youth groups, included remarks from County Commissioner Eric Roe, officials from the Chester County Republican Party, the Chester County Young Republicans, and representatives of the local Turning Point USA chapter. The gathering was live‑streamed on ChesterCountyTV’s Youtube channel, where those unable to attend can still view the replay. The event served as both a memorial and a rallying point for local conservative activists.
Two New Ways for Local Businesses to Shine in the Downingtown Local Pulse

Downingtown is built on the strength of its small businesses — the shops, restaurants, services, and makers that give our community its unique character. Now, there are two new ways for those businesses to get in front of thousands of engaged local readers through the Downingtown Local Pulse.
We’re introducing two promotional programs designed to give businesses year-round visibility and meaningful connections with our audience:
1. Partner Program
This package gives businesses a featured listing in our Local Business Directory, making it easy for residents to find and support you. Partners also receive:
A monthly Business Spotlight article that tells your story.
A pinned article on our website for maximum visibility.
Exposure to our massive Facebook audience, with each feature shared across our highly engaged social channels.
2. Patron Program
For businesses ready to take their visibility to the next level, the Patron Program includes everything in the Partner Program plus:
A top-level ad placement one issue a month, ensuring your brand stays front and center.
Both programs are built to keep your business in the local conversation month after month — not just as an ad, but as a valued part of the community’s story.
Whether you’re a family-run shop, a growing startup, or a well-established local favorite, these programs offer an affordable way to boost your visibility while supporting the Downingtown Local Pulse’s mission to celebrate the people and businesses that make our town special.
