Heat Advisory in Effect for Chester County

Heads up, Downingtown – it’s going to be dangerously hot this week. A heat advisory is in place from Tuesday (11 AM) through Wednesday morning (8 AM) as high temperatures and humidity push the heat index above 90 degrees.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Stay indoors as much as possible, especially in the afternoon.

  • Drink plenty of water – avoid caffeine and alcohol.

  • Never leave kids or pets in parked cars.

  • Check on neighbors, especially seniors or those without AC.

  • Watch for signs of heat illness like muscle cramps, dizziness, or nausea. Call 911 immediately if you suspect heat stroke.

Local officials say this kind of prolonged heat is a serious health risk, particularly for children, older adults, and pets. Keep cool, stay safe, and monitor local alerts for updates.
