Five Charged in Deadly Coatesville Stabbing; One Suspect Still at Large

COATESVILLE, PA — Five Coatesville men, one of them a juvenile charged as an adult, are facing murder and related charges in the June 29 stabbing death of Alexander Camacho. Authorities say Camacho was lured into a confrontation that turned deadly, as surveillance and cellphone footage show he was pursued through city streets and attacked in his girlfriend’s backyard. The suspects—Joseph Lancella, Hyovannie Gonzalez-Declet, Shirron Jones-Allen, Dorreon Miller, and Marcus Culclasure—allegedly surrounded and assaulted Camacho, with Lancella seen wielding a knife. One suspect remains at large, and police continue to investigate as preliminary hearings are set for July 16. Full story at the Daily Local
West Chester Debates Limits on Public Speakers at Council Meetings

WEST CHESTER, PA — West Chester Borough’s Administration, Communication & Technology Committee is weighing whether to limit public comments at government meetings to borough residents. The discussion follows a June incident in which a West Goshen resident was told she could not speak because the topic was not on the agenda and she did not live in the borough. Committee members debated the interpretation of the borough’s Home Rule Charter, with differing views on the term “citizen.” Some officials voiced support for limiting participation to residents or property owners, while others warned of curbing free speech. Members of the public and political candidates raised concerns about restricting input from nearby community members. The committee plans to revisit the issue in August and is also considering shortening public comment time limits.
