Downingtown Borough Proclaims July 9 as “Will Howard Day”
DOWNINGTOWN, PA — On July 9, Downingtown will officially declare “Will Howard Day” in honor of the local athlete who has risen from high school football star to NFL quarterback. After a record-breaking run at Downingtown West, Howard made waves at Kansas State and then led Ohio State to a national title in 2024. Recently drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers, Howard will be recognized in a private ceremony at Borough Hall. Local officials will celebrate his athletic success and lasting impact on the community, emphasizing the connection he has maintained with his Downingtown roots.
Caln Township Calls for Volunteers for In-Stream Clean-Up

CALN TWP — The Caln Clean-Up Crew is organizing a community litter removal effort at Valley Run on Saturday, July 12, from 9 to 11 a.m. Unlike previous events, this cleanup will involve volunteers entering the stream, prompting organizers to advise waterproof gear and proper safety attire. The initiative, run by Caln Township Parks and Recreation, is part of a larger effort to reduce litter across the township through targeted clean-up days. Volunteers are recognized through a reward program, and safety measures including flaggers and signage will be in place. For questions or to get involved, residents can contact Abbey Swan with the township at [email protected] or 610-384-0600 x148 or sign-up online.
East Brandywine Hosts Concert Night with Food and Philanthropy

EAST BRANDYWINE TWP — East Brandywine Community Park will host a summer concert on Thursday, July 10, featuring Chico’s Vibe, a well-known East Coast event band celebrated for its energetic performances and wide-ranging musical selections. Food from Sabatinos and Maggie Moo’s will be available starting at 6 p.m., with the concert beginning at 6:30. As part of the evening’s activities, organizers are collecting school supplies—including backpacks, rulers, and pens—for the Lord’s Pantry.
