House Fire in Uwchlan Reveals Illegal Grow Operation
UWCHLAN TWP โ A Thursday evening fire at a residence in Uwchlan Township resulted in the unexpected discovery of a marijuana grow operation. Firefighters contained the blaze, which caused extensive damage to the second floor and roof. The home was unoccupied at the time, and no injuries occurred. During their response and investigation, emergency personnel found evidence of an illegal cultivation setup. The Uwchlan Township Police Department has not released details on the operationโs scale, and the case remains under active investigation.
Benchmark Federal Credit Union to Merge with Franklin Mint
WEST CHESTER, PA โ Benchmark Federal Credit Union, a Chester County institution with over 80 years of history, plans to merge with Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union, a larger Delaware County-based credit union. The merger, slated for early 2026 pending regulatory and membership approval, is intended to enhance service offerings and provide broader access to financial tools and branches for Benchmark members. The unified organization will operate under the Franklin Mint name. As Benchmark celebrates its 85th anniversary, it will continue community engagement through events and promotions, while employees are expected to have roles in the new structure.
End of an Era for Caln Township Playground Merry-Go-Round.

CALN TWP โ Caln Township has announced the permanent retirement of the long-standing merry-go-round at Caln Municipal Park, which broke recently and cannot be repaired due to its age and the unavailability of replacement parts. For decades, the equipment served as a touchstone for local children, fostering friendships and fun. Township officials are currently considering options for a replacement that will continue to serve future generations. In the interim, the community is being asked to respect the process as the township plans how to move forward.
Keep Coatesville Beautiful: Community Cleanup Saturday

COATESVILLE, PA โ The 2nd Century Alliance, in partnership with Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful, is hosting a community cleanup across Coatesville on Saturday, June 28. Volunteers are invited to gather at 228 E. Lincoln Highway at 10 a.m. to take part in a citywide beautification effort. The event supports broader initiatives aimed at economic revitalization and community engagement in Coatesville.
