Chester County Opens Applications for Farmland Preservation Programs

WEST CHESTER, PA — The Chester County Agricultural Land Preservation Board is accepting applications for two farmland preservation programs: the Commonwealth/County Program and the Challenge Grant Program. These initiatives, funded by the county commissioners, compensate farm owners in exchange for permanent easements that prevent non-agricultural development. Farms must meet specific acreage and adjacency requirements to qualify. Over 45,000 acres have already been preserved through these efforts. The application deadline is August 1, 2025. South Caln Road to Close for Utility Work Starting June 30

CALN TWP — Beginning Monday, June 30, South Caln Road in Caln Township will be closed to through traffic as contractors carry out utility installations and road improvements for the Hills at Thorndale Woods Subdivision. The closure is expected to remain in place for about one month. Detour signs will direct drivers around the construction zone.

New Tot Lot Opens at East Brandywine Community Park

EAST BRANDYWINE TWP — East Brandywine Township has announced the opening of its new Tot Lot at the Community Park. The playground, designed for young children, is fully installed and ready for use. Township officials acknowledged the work of the Public Works Department for the installation and encouraged families to use the space safely.
