Colonial Theatre Awarded $100,000 for Historic Preservation

By JJonahJackalope
PHOENIXVILLE, PA — Phoenixville’s Colonial Theatre received a $100,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission as part of a $2 million statewide initiative to preserve cultural landmarks. The nonprofit venue, housed in two historic buildings, plays a central role in the town’s arts scene. Funded by the state’s realty transfer tax, the grant program is designed to sustain Pennsylvania’s historical sites and is closely tied to preparations for America’s 250th anniversary in 2026. The award will support the theatre’s continued restoration efforts and reinforce its status as a regional cultural centerpiece.
Houlahan Joins Bipartisan Task Force Confronting Cartel Threats

WASHINGTON, DC — A newly launched bipartisan task force within the House Intelligence Committee aims to address escalating threats from Mexican cartels and transnational criminal organizations. The Cartel Task Force includes lawmakers from both parties, such as Rep. Chrissy Houlahan, and is led by Rep. Dan Crenshaw of Texas. The task force will coordinate with intelligence agencies to craft strategies focused on drug trafficking, human smuggling, and arms dealing. Its work follows warnings from the 2025 Annual Threat Assessment that these groups pose a growing national security threat. Findings may guide future legislation and U.S. cooperation with Mexico and other partners. Houlahan’s participation underscores a commitment to bipartisan solutions on critical security issues.
Caln Township Organizes Petition to Demand Bridge Maintenance from State

CALN TWP — After months of deterioration and inaction, Caln Township is mobilizing residents to address worsening potholes on the North Bailey Road bridge, which spans the Route 30 Bypass. Despite repeated reports and formal complaints to PennDOT, the agency has yet to initiate repairs. In response, the Township has launched a petition to show the collective concern of those affected and pressure PennDOT into action. Residents can sign the form online through the Township’s website, contributing to a coordinated appeal for immediate infrastructure maintenance.
