Special Operations Units See Major Expansion in Chester County

WEST CHESTER, PA — In a bid to bolster public safety and adapt to evolving challenges, the Chester County Sheriff’s Office has significantly expanded its Special Operations Units. Enhancements span five key areas: Fugitive Apprehension, Motorcycle, K-9, Field Force Operations, and Protective Intelligence. The Fugitive Apprehension Unit targets high-risk individuals with outstanding warrants, while the K-9 Unit is expanding to address narcotics and evidence searches. Motorcycle deputies provide rapid-response support, and the Field Force team is being trained to manage crowd control and public order. The newly integrated Protective Intelligence Unit focuses on threat detection and prevention. Sheriff Kevin Dykes described the move as part of a long-term investment in skilled, proactive policing designed to meet the county’s current and future security needs.
