Summer Reading Returns to Downingtown Library With āColor Our Worldā Theme

DOWNINGTOWN, PA ā The Downingtown Library is set to kick off its annual Summer Reading Program on June 7, inviting young readers from preschool through their teen years to take part in two months of reading, creativity, and community activities. Running from June 9 through August 9, the program centers on the theme āColor Our World.ā On opening day, children can take part in a craft activity and decorate their own wallets, while teen volunteers guide participants through registration. The initiative is designed to sustain literacy and creativity during the summer months.
Calnās Art in the Park Kicks Off Wednesday With Outdoor Crafting Event

CALN TWP ā Caln Township will kick off its summer āArt in the Parkā series this Wednesday with an evening of hands-on creativity at Caln Municipal Park. Running from 5 to 7 p.m., the event is hosted by One For All and welcomes community members of all ages to participate. The featured craft for the evening invites attendees to create and decorate their own seed packets. With a drop-in format, the event encourages residents to enjoy art and nature in a casual, family-friendly atmosphere.
āNatureās Canvasā Brings Public Art to Kennettās Expanding Trail Network
KENNETT SQUARE, PA ā The Kennett Trails Alliance is inviting residents to take part in a new art initiative called āNatureās Canvas: Art on the Kennett Greenway.ā The project aims to build community pride and environmental awareness along the 14-mile trail currently under development. Participants, including youth and seniors, will create banners and help paint four large murals designed by Philadelphia artist Kala Hagopian. These murals, which depict native plant and animal life, will be installed along the Greenway and include QR codes linking to educational materials. A major community painting event is set for July 26 at Anson B. Nixon Park. The project highlights the Allianceās mission to combine health, education, and cultural engagement through public spaces.
