Officers were serving a psychiatric warrant when William McGillan allegedly fired at them. The officer returned fire while retreating. A subsequent investigation, including body-camera footage and ballistics analysis, confirmed that McGillan fired the first shots. He was later apprehended after fleeing across rooftops and discarding his firearm. McGillan is charged with attempted homicide and remains in custody without bail.
