While the county remains one of Pennsylvania's healthiest, the report identifies increasing mental health issues and widening disparities in chronic disease and maternal health outcomes. Economic factors, such as the high cost of living and a shortage of affordable housing, further impact residents' well-being. These findings will shape the upcoming Community Health Improvement Plan, aiming to address these challenges through collaborative efforts. Read it online

Pennsylvania American Water Hosts June Sessions

COATESVILLE, PA — Throughout June, Pennsylvania American Water is offering a series of customer service sessions for residents in the Coatesville area. These sessions, available both in-person at Coatesville City Hall and virtually, aim to address customer inquiries regarding water and wastewater services. Additionally, attendees can learn about the H2O Help to Others™ program, which provides financial assistance to eligible households. 9th Annual Ringer Run 5K Set for June 12 in Chester Springs

CHESTER SPRINGS, PA — Scheduled for June 12, 2025, the 9th Annual Ringer Run 5K in Chester Springs, PA, is a community event dedicated to raising funds for suicide prevention and mental health awareness. Organized by Ringer Run Benefit Inc., the race offers both in-person and virtual participation options. Attendees can expect a supportive atmosphere with giveaways, finisher medals, and a post-race celebration. All proceeds go toward local mental health initiatives and the Joseph J. West Chester University Celebrates 20th Anniversary of Camp Abilities

WEST CHESTER, PA — Camp Abilities PA returned to West Chester University for its 20th anniversary this Memorial Day weekend, continuing its mission to empower visually impaired youth through sport. Directed by Dr. Elizabeth Foster and Dr. Maria Lepore-Stevens, the camp brought together athletes, WCU student coaches, and alumni to participate in a week of adaptive sports, including goalball, swimming, and a concluding triathlon. The camp, rooted in a tradition launched by Dr. Lauren Lieberman at SUNY Brockport and brought to WCU by Dr. Monica Lepore, has grown into a vital resource for youth with disabilities, offering community, confidence, and athletic opportunity.
