Teen Victims Were Shot Before Chadds Ford Crash, Police Say
CHADDS FORD, PA — A crash that claimed the life of a 17-year-old girl and critically injured a 19-year-old man in Chadds Ford Township has now been linked to a shooting, according to Pennsylvania State Police. The BMW the teens were in was found overturned in the early morning hours of April 20. While the initial assumption pointed to a high-speed accident, autopsy results revealed both victims were shot in the head before the collision. The girl was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver remains in critical condition. Investigators recovered two guns and spent shell casings inside the car. Authorities say the vehicle was speeding and ran red lights before the crash. There is no public threat at this time, but police continue to investigate and are seeking witnesses.
Caln Township to Vote on Creating Environmental Advisory Council

CALN TWP — Caln Township officials have announced a public hearing to consider the adoption of an ordinance establishing an Environmental Advisory Council. The hearing will take place on May 8 during the Board of Commissioners’ regular meeting. If adopted, the ordinance would create a volunteer council responsible for advising the board on environmental issues such as land use, conservation, and sustainability initiatives. The council would serve as a resource for gathering data, offering recommendations, and encouraging local environmental programming. The ordinance is available for public review at the township offices. Accommodations will be made for residents with disabilities wishing to attend the hearing.

EXTON, PA — Police in West Whiteland Township are investigating a retail theft that occurred at the Kohl’s department store in the Whiteland Towne Center. The incident happened just after 9 p.m. on Saturday, April 26. Authorities have shared a surveillance image and are appealing to the public for help in identifying the suspect. No information has been released about what was taken, and police have not filed any charges at this time. The case remains under investigation, and anyone with tips is encouraged to contact the police department. Officials remind the public that the suspect is presumed innocent until proven otherwise.
WCU Welcomes Public to Free Outdoor Music Festival on Campus

WEST CHESTER, PA — The Wells School of Music at West Chester University will present the eighth annual Concert on the Quad on Thursday, May 1, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Held on the university’s main lawn, the event features performances from four student ensembles, including the Steel Drum Band, Latin Jazz Ensemble, Criterions Jazz Ensemble, and the West Chester University Symphony Orchestra.
