WEST CHESTER, PA — Chester County is organizing a large-scale job and internship fair on Wednesday, April 9, from 3 to 6 p.m. at West Chester University’s Hollinger Field House. The event will feature more than 50 employers representing industries such as healthcare, education, government, and finance.
Open to the public, the fair provides opportunities for students, graduates, and experienced professionals. Positions range from full- and part-time jobs to internships and volunteer roles. Among the confirmed participants are the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, 365 Health Services, Chester County Human Services, CCRES, and numerous school districts and non-profits. Brandywine Red Clay Alliance Launches Fundraiser to Preserve Local Waterways

WEST CHESTER, PA — The Brandywine Red Clay Alliance is inviting the community to support local conservation efforts through an online auction running through April 6. All proceeds will benefit the preservation and restoration of the Brandywine and Red Clay watersheds, which are vital to the region’s water quality and natural habitat.
The auction includes a wide range of items and experiences, with winning bids helping to fund environmental initiatives, including stream restoration, land preservation, and community education programs. Residents can participate by browsing the online catalog and placing bids before the deadline.
Historic Cadwalader House and Schoolhouse Open for Public Tours

UWCHLAN TWP — Residents and history enthusiasts are invited to step back in time this April during a public open house hosted by the Uwchlan Township Historical Commission and the Lionville Historic District. The event will be held at 21 N Village Avenue in Exton and feature guided visits of two landmark buildings: the John Cadwalader House, considered the site of Uwchlan’s first European settlement, and the Edith P. Moore Schoolhouse, a preserved example of early Lionville education.
This year’s open house is part of a broader celebration of the Historical Commission’s 50th anniversary. A special display will reflect on the township’s evolution over the past half-century, showcasing historical items and stories from the community.
Chester County Planning Commission Releases 2024 Annual Report

WEST CHESTER, PA — The Chester County Planning Commission’s newly released 2024 Annual Report highlights a year of progress in land preservation, sustainability, historic preservation, housing, and public infrastructure. With over 300 acres of land protected, national recognition for solar policy, and new strategies for expanding affordable housing, the report reflects the county’s continued investment in long-term planning under the Landscapes3 framework.
Major milestones include the release of updated public transportation and trails master plans, the introduction of an Open Space Accelerator for municipalities, and expanded sustainability outreach to local homeowners associations. Heritage tourism and housing initiatives also saw momentum in 2024.
The year closed with a change in leadership, as longtime executive director Brian O’Leary retired and was succeeded by Matt Edmond in early 2025.Share the newsletter
